Children's Eye Examination

A child’s best chance to succeed at school starts with an eye exam. Once kids are 6 months old they should have their eyes examined every year. Babies and children will not notice an issue with their eyesight, but an optometrist will. Early detection could keep your child from struggling with vision issues their entire lives. School aged children should be examined annually, though your optometrist may recommend they come in more frequently if they have vision problems.  The Government of Saskatchewan covers the cost of annual eye exams for all children under 18.
