Spring is here!  We need to think about wearing our sunglasses on those sunny days! The UV rays from the sun are invisible and are most intense from April to September, especially from the hours of 11am - 3pm.  UV rays can speed up the aging process and contribute to eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration.  The UV rays can reflect off snow, sand and water.  They can also penetrate the clouds.   Polarized lenses reduce the glare and block out the blue light.  They are a must if your on the water fishing or boating.   The protection to look for is 100 percent UV protection or UV 400 protection. It is also very important to protect children's eyes as they spend more time outside than adults.  So encourage them to wear sunglasses outside as well as a hat for added protection.
